Some sad news

I mentioned about a week and a half ago that my mother and I witnessed an accident where an elderly man on a scooter was hit by a cabulance. Well, we now know the sad conclusion to the story. My mother got a phone call from the Bothell police department yesterday, because they had her name and phone number as a witness. The elderly man, who did have a broken hip as a result of the accident, died on Monday night. So Mom is going into the police station today to fill out paperwork on what she saw, since this is now a fatality accident.

My deepest sympathies go out to his family. But I can’t help feeling even worse for the cabulance driver. The whole situation is just so sad, and I wish that it could have been avoided. So, my already melancholy mood is exacerbated.

On a totally opposite and unrelated note, I think that I can safely predict which girls will make the Top 12 on American Idol. Barring a horrific performance that gets them booted out, I predict that Katharine, Lisa, Paris, Kellie and Mandisa will make the final round. Who gets the last spot? I think it’s a toss-up. I predict that Brenna (who came off as the most arrogant person possible during this week’s mini-interviews) and Heather will be voted out this week, and that it will be quite a contest between the remaining girls (Kinnik, Melissa and Ayla) to see who gets that last spot. But I think that this year, the girls are easier to predict than the guys.

I also predict that I will get laundry done today. And that Baby Boy will eat all of his lunch. Yes, we’ve started lunches as of Monday, and after a couple of weeks of really fighting him to get his mouth open to eat, he’s become quite the eager eater. Carrots are now also on his okay list, as are peaches. Next up, we re-try peas, and add squash and pears. He’s got a doctor appointment tomorrow!

Very sad to hear about the man. On you American Idol note though, you must remember that Brenna said “Well it’s good it’s not your choice.” and “America Loves me.” And let us not forget “I know I did wonderful.” If you start a petition to either: Remove Brenna from American Idol, or to remove her from American Idol and have her exhiled to somewhere in Sibera I’ll sign. You where 100% right on her.
