Argh…

The Munchkin has a new favorite toy at the moment – an old makeup compact of mine that used to hold pressed powder. I used it all up, and gave it to her to play with. She loves it, calls it her “makeup”, and carries it around in her play purse (that also holds two play cell phones and her Disney Princesses camera).

So, she took the whole kit and caboodle with her to the church nursery last night, and when we got home and the Webmaster and I were cleaning up, I discovered that the applicator puff wasn’t in the compact. I checked the car, but no luck. She left it in the church nursery, and who knows if it is still there or if it got thrown out.

Fortunately, she doesn’t know yet. I am going to go to church before Baby Boy’s doctor appointment to see if I can find it. If I can’t, I’m not sure what I will do. I’m also not sure how she will react when she discovers this. I think she will be upset, but I can’t predict the level of upset. Hopefully, I’ll just find the dumb puff in the basket of toys in the nursery, and this whole issue will be solved. And then she never takes this stuff to church to get lost again.

I feel like banging my head on the keyboard. This is so not what I wanted to have to do tomorrow, but if I want to avoid a freak-out, I’ve got to come up with a solution.

My American Idol predictions for the guys: I think that only Elliott and Chris are perfectly safe. The rest of them are iffy. The Webmaster kept voting for Taylor (who is still awesome, in my opinion). I’m going to say that David and Bucky are going to be voted out. The Webmaster pointed me toward Bucky, though it could easily be Will or Jose. We will see.

I’ll update everyone on the hunt for the missing puff, and Baby Boy’s stats, later today.

Update: Well, I took the advice of Little Cousin’s Mommy (though the Webmaster was totally in synch with Oddball’s comment), and bought a 3 pack of puffs at Target. I slipped the one I was currently using into her compact, giving myself the new clean one. I did make a good faith effort to dig it up at church, but no luck. My dad believes that he saw it in the garbage last night when he cleaned up, so we’re moving on. Just my luck, she wanted her teddy bear today, and not her purse with her “makeup” in it.

And here are Baby Boy’s vital statistics:
Weight: 16 lbs., 15 oz. (he should be 17 lbs. – he left a hefty amount of poop in his diaper just before he was weighed), 25th percentile
Length: 28 inches, 70th percentile
Shots: 4 (2 in each thigh)
Cuteness: at least 90th percentile 🙂

Go to Target and buy a three-pack of Cover Girl compact puffs. That way, Munchkin will have a new (clean) one to play with and you will have a couple extra for yourself. And if she doesn’t like the fact that her new one is clean and not exactly like the old one, just give it a light swipe in your current compact. Problem solved.

Another solution to this problem given by Frank Barone, “I learned to do without.”
