UPS is messing with me again

I am really mad at the UPS driver who delivered my packages today.

The Webmaster heard a knock at the door and saw the big brown van, and said, “Hey, I think your stamp boxes are here.” I raced to the door, excited. I’ve been waiting for this new order of stuff.

I open the door to find that the driver put them to the side of my front doorstep. Now, we don’t have a porch, we just have two concrete steps that lead up to our front door. So the UPS driver usually sets the boxes off to the side, behind my hydrangea bush and hidden from the casual observer and shaded from the sun.

Only this time, he failed to see that I have a hosta plant in a pot there now, and he dumped my boxes on top of my plant!!!

Four stems were broken, and I was really upset. I marched my boxes inside and trimmed the broken stems off my hosta, gave it some water and apologized to it. Then I headed for the computer and wrote a scathing email on ups.com. I was told that I would hear back from customer service in 24 hours. I don’t think they’ll actually DO anything about it, but I want to hear some groveling. And then I may move my plant back a few feet from the doorstep, if it’s going to be attacked by unscrupulous UPS drivers like that. I’ll report back when I hear something.

In other news:

We have had a total potty meltdown here. Besides the fact that the Munchkin would not tell us if she needed to poop in the potty to save her life at the moment, peeing in it was a fool’s fantasy yesterday afternoon. She went through three pairs of cloth training pants because she forgot to use the toilet.

That sound you hear? Me banging my head on the keyboard.

She did really well on Sunday – she didn’t have one accident, stayed dry through her nap, but she didn’t poop. She made up for it yesterday by pooping three times, once in her new Hello Kitty panties.

I guess yesterday was an “off” day. That and she had a really loud temper tantrum that resulted in forfeiture of her bedtime story (this happened when she was told to come inside to get ready for bed), plus she lost her rights to dessert when she was playing with her milk (as opposed to actually drinking it) and spilled it all over her placemat. Let’s just say that she was two with a vengeance yesterday and leave it at that.

Today is a new day. *breathe in, breathe out*

Wow, sorry. Maybe tomorrow will be better (nudge, nudge, wink, wink)! 😉

Sometimes I wish you could just send them out for a week, and poof! they come back potty trained. This has been our most challenging obstacle so far with Connor…

Poor Munchkin! It just takes time…. she’ll get there in the end!

Maybe you should consider planting a UPS Driver Eating Carniverous Triffid instead – that’ll teach him not to dump stuff on your poor plants!
