Hand-me-down memories
I just got back a bunch of clothes from Little Cousin’s Mommy. Little Cousin has outgrown them all, and so it’s time to pack them into storage.
It is quite sentimental for me to just go through these few outfits. There is the hand-knit sweater dress with matching cardigan and hat, the lavender seersucker gingham summer dress outfit with matching hat, jeans, bodysuits, sleepers, her little Mariners playdress, and her Baby Gap khaki jumper with matching socks that Little Cousin’s Mommy gave her at her baby shower.
How did the Munchkin ever outgrow this stuff? And who told Little Cousin that she could even start growing??
So, they will all be packed away again, waiting for another little girl to come along and wear them. And I’ve had to start packing up Baby Boy’s tiny outfits too, and begin weeding out the clothes he stopped wearing a while ago, in favor of newer and bigger ones. I can’t believe he’s going to be a year old on Saturday!
I also can’t believe I don’t have the menu planned yet!!

I went through something similar with Little Cousin’s clothes (which is why you got the Munchkin’s back). It’s bittersweet.

I find putting away the Toddler’s clothes SO difficult. Dustbunny’s wardrobe is full of stuff that is too small for her, and I know I’ll have to do it soon, but it is a real effort, I get far too emotional over it! Even then, I can’t actually put any away – I just pack them away in the attic!
