Is it just me?

Is anyone else miffed about the inconvenience of Amazon and Toys ‘R Us breaking up?

At first, I thought it might not be too bad. I did have to restructure my wish list as far as toy items went, but I thought I’d be able to find replacements for the same toys through Amazon’s various vendors.

HAHAHAHAHAHA!

No such luck. Even for something as simple as Fisher-Price toys – which EVERYONE carries – the variety is wide, and the prices vary, too.

So, I just thought, Not a big problem. I’ll just construct a wish list at Toys ‘R Us that I can put toys for the kids on to refer people to.

HAHAHAHAHAHA!

Turns out that if you have a wish list at Toys ‘R Us’s website, you are the only one who can view it. No one else can look it up and see what you might want to buy. According to the Toys ‘R Us website, the purpose of their wish list is for YOU to keep track of what you HAVEN’T bought yet.

That sound is me banging my head against the keyboard.

Now, the whole baby registry thing still works on both sites, which is good. But I really think that Amazon screwed up when they didn’t try and settle their differences with Toys ‘R Us before ending up in litigation, and Toys ‘R Us is proving their stupidity by not having accessible wish lists for grandparents to look at. Trust me on this, Toys R’ Us – the parents already know what toys they have in the house. We are the ones cleaning them up off the floor before we break a leg tripping on them. We don’t need to make a list of what we haven’t gotten yet!

I’m done ranting now. I’m sure I’ll have more, though – Auntie and I are going back-to-school shopping today at the mall. We are going without the kids. Sweet freedom!!!

I’m miffed too. I liked all of the reviews that Toys ‘R’ Us items had accumulated on Amazon, it was what helped me pick the crib and mattress we have for Little Cousin. On Toys ‘R’ Us’ website – since it is new – there are little to no reviews yet.

I did not know about the Wish List issue until you told me, but I do think it is ridiculous. Almost every other website has wish list option and other parties can view most of those. I guess kids will have to go back to writing Christmas/Birthday lists and sending them to their relatives. If only certain relatives would pay attention the system would work. (Don’t worry, it’s not you.)

That is not the sound of your head banging on the keyboard, nor is it anyone else either. THIS is the sound (and what happens visually) when one bangs one’s head upon a keyboard. Ahem……

There you have it, banging one’s head on a keyboard.
