She’s starting early

The Munchkin is two and a half, and already she’s trying to pick up men.

I am in so much trouble.

Yesterday, I took the kids to the grocery store for a mega-shopping trip. I hadn’t been to the grocery store in about two weeks, except to buy milk and bread. We were out of milk, and there were lots of other things we needed to get, especially with the Webmaster starting the South Beach Diet. The kids got to ride in the fire engine cart – I buckled them both in, and they each got to “drive” around the store.

At the checkout counter, they asked if I wanted help taking my stuff out to the car. Since I had bought a third of the store, and the kids were getting antsy, I decided that it would be nice to get some help. The checker called over a bag boy to give me a hand out. He was probably a junior or senior in high school, was wearing an Inglemoor High School sweatshirt hoodie over his work clothes (it had been raining a lot and he had been bringing carts in from outside), and was nearly a foot taller than I am.

The Munchkin starts chatting him up, telling him her name, and then when he asks, how old she is. We get everything in the back of the minivan and I unbuckle her and tell her to get in the car. The bag boy unbuckles Tad and hands him to me, and then tries to help the Munchkin get into the car and into her carseat. Once she’s inside the car, though, she has another plan.

“Come on, get in the car!” she tells the teenager. “You come home with us!”

“You’re so cute,” he tells her.

“Come on, get in!” she insists.

“Um, Munchkin, I think he needs to stay and work,” I tell her. She is quite effusive in her good-byes, and I thank the guy for his help as he smiles and takes the cart away.

I wonder if he’ll tell anyone that a two-year-old girl tried to pick him up at work.

Hysterical! We’re having a similar problem. Our little girl (age 2) has gotten into the habit lately of running up to boys and kissing them on the lips. Not just a little peck either. She’s practically making out with them! Lord help me!

Hehe…Connor is quite the ladies man himself. I can’t go anywhere with out him hitting on (especially) teenage girls. Hey, no wonder Daddy doesn’t mind going to the store with him!! (LOL)

Maybe she thought her mama needed a “boy toy?” Very considerate of her!
