Goin’ to the zoo, zoo, zoo (and aquarium)

Saturday, we took the kids to the zoo for the first time. We met up with the Webmaster’s parents (henceforth to be known as Nana and Papa), and the Webmaster’s cousin S. and her son D. We had not seen S. and D. since last Thanksgiving, so it was a treat to see them. D. just started kindergarten, and is three years older than his second cousin the Munchkin, but they seemed to hit it off pretty well.

We met at a semi-halfway point – Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium in Tacoma. The last time the Webmaster and I were here, we were on a double date with ScrapMom and GamingDad before we were married. So, it’s been over six years. It was a fun time for everyone, especially the Munchkin, who got to ride on her first merry-go-round at the end of the day. She loved the aquarium more than the zoo, and Tad loved the zoo more than the aquarium (though he did have a good time in both). D. sided with the Munchkin, and they both really enjoyed the shark exhibit (we showed up during feeding time for the sharks, which was very cool). Tad loved watching a male tiger pace in front of his window, seeing reindeer and elephants and watching the monkeys swing around.
