Ane Speaks!

We let Ane watch “The Little Mermaid” for the first time a couple of days ago. She liked the movie well enough, but I think she was a little confused by the plot (Ursula and the whole magic bit). However, she is under the impression that her Daddy is the prince in all the Disney movies. It also didn’t help that this time, the prince and her father actually share the same name.

“Mommy, Daddy married the Little Mermaid!” she told me excitedly.

“And what does that make Mommy?” I asked her in mock indignation.

She contemplated me for half a second. “Very sad,” she said in a very matter-of-fact tone.
