She’s watching us…

We’ve been refining Ane’s potty training recently. We’re trying to achieve total control – sleep included – and have now introduced the no-Pull-ups-at-naptime rule. Yes, there may be more laundry ahead for me, but part of this process is teaching her to “go” before falling asleep, therefore avoiding accidents and working towards bedtime control.

Two days ago, Ane announced, “I need to go potty,” and then stopped.

“What are you waiting for?” the Webmaster asked, trying to lead her into the bathroom.

“Where’s my dolly book?” she asked. She then spotted the American Girl Doll catalog on the floor where she’d left it. “There it is!” She picked it up and walked into the bathroom, got herself on the potty and began to pore over the pages. Then she spotted her father at the door, desperately trying not to laugh. “Daddy, I need my privacy,” she told him sternly.

He obligingly closed the door, and we began to laugh hysterically.

I wonder where she learned this??

    A whole new world…
    Privacy and magazines…

But then it is always punctuated with the potty trained darlings calling when they are finished the deed… pulling their cheeks apart and asking if they did a good job cleaning…
