Double-whammy auntie

First of all, I want to stress that I am NOT pregnant. Everyone take note of that.

However, I’m going to be an auntie again – twice over – by the end of this year!

Little Cousin’s Mommy is expecting in September, and Q-Bee and the Captain have just announced that Belle is getting a sibling in December. I feel sorry for my December niece-or-nephew already – I do the December birthday deal with Ane, and it’s not easy. My hope is that the kid is born early in December instead of close to Christmas (her projected due date is Dec. 20th at the moment).

Ane knows about Little Cousin’s Mommy, but not Q-Bee. I think we’ll wait until it gets closer or when we travel to see them. And Ane is baby-crazy at the moment – Handy Girl came over to visit on Tuesday with Handy Baby, and Ane was in L-O-V-E. And can you blame her? Look at how cute he is!

So, sadly, these new cousins won’t be living near us anytime soon, but Ane will welcome them with open arms when they are here. However, when they all become toddlers she will turn into Angelica. I just know it.

A conversation from this morning…

Ane is getting pretty good about waking up dry in the mornings – I think we’re down to a couple of times a week that she wakes up wet. This morning was one of those times. I sniffed the air when she climbed into bed with me. “Ane, are you wet?” I asked.

“No, but I’m not dry,” she replied.
