Zoo Pictures

My thanks to the Webmaster for posting in my absence. Did anyone notice I was gone? Those of you who aren’t related to me or live near me?

We’ve been enjoying Little Cousin’s (and Oddball and her Mommy, too) visit. In fact, I don’t think Ane will want them to leave, because we keep doing fun things while they are here! Even with my severe allergies at the moment, I’ve been trucking along and having fun between cough drops.

So, without further adieu, here are some pictures from our trip to the zoo!

Ane feeds giraffes!
I submitted to extortion and paid $5 for Ane and myself to feed the giraffes. It would have been $10, but since Ane is still 3, she was free. She loved this.

Ane and the giraffe
Ane poses with the giraffe she just fed – who is clearly looking for another handout.

Grandma and the kids
My mother also came along for the outing. The picture is a little blurred, but she and the kids are posing with the baby elephant statue.

Tad at the petting barn. He is staring longingly at the miniature horses. You can guess what he’s thinking.

Pet the bunny!
Ane finally gets to pet a real bunny. It was better than she imagined.

Tad, Ane and Little Cousin play on the old tractor near the petting barn.

Too many drivers on this wheel, I think.

Monarch butterfly
We went into the Tropical Butterfly House. The butterflies were just gorgeous, as you can tell. One landed on Ane’s ponytail, and she flipped out. It took the hint and flew away. But it was a very neat experience.

After all this sightseeing, I have come to one conclusion…

I need a better digital camera.

It was fun. We’ll have to go back when Little Cousin is a little older and doesn’t freak out with the animals.
