Shaking off the weekend lethargy

I don’t know why, but it’s taking me a little more effort to get into the swing of things today. And it’s not like I sat in the sun with a glass of lemonade all weekend, either. I did a lot of work that needed attending to, along with the fun things we squeezed in.

I think I’m just tired of summer. I think I really prefer the routine of the school year, even though this will be the first time I actually have a kid in school (albeit preschool). I know that Ane will enjoy school, and will LOVE the fact that she is now big enough to go. I’m looking forward to spending more time with Tad and encouraging him to talk for himself. I’m ready for fall, if all I’m going to get around here is a weak summer sunshine front.

Maybe I will get started on my Christmas cards to shake some of this off. It’s a little too warm to bake just yet. I did a pile of ironing this weekend in front of a fan, so I’m not anxious to warm up the house unnecessarily, though I know my dad would love some cookies.

First things first. Tad turns two next Sunday. (How did that happen?!!?!?!?!?) I’ve ordered his ice cream cake and have all the plates and napkins and cups… I hope it’s nice enough for the kids to play outside. Oh, and we have to get the propane tank refilled/topped off – during the party would not be a good time to run out.

His birthday is the last “big” event of my summer (our anniversary is much more low-key, now that his birthday has claimed the same date), and then I will really be able to focus on the back-to-school momentum.

In the meantime, I think I’m going to do a Sudoku puzzle to jump-start my brain today.

It’s been in the nineties here, but we have AC.

I’m with you: I want summer to be over with, but for different reasons. When fall comes, so does 2nd Baby!

I have to say, that I could not agree with you in 100% regarding Shaking off the weekend lethargy, but it’s just my opinion, which could be wrong 🙂
