Tad’s new words

A couple of days of having Ane in preschool and spending a little one-on-one time with Tad has produced a few new words for him:

Noh – nose, and he will grab his nose while he’s talking (he will also pinch his nose and continue jabbering because he likes the funny sounds).

Eeer – ears, and then he grabs his ears.

Meow – when asked “What does a kitty say?” he meows. This is mostly due to his second favorite book-of-the-moment, Moo, Baa, La La La! (His favorite book-of-the-moment is the Cars board book.)

Fuf, fuf – when asked “What does a dog say?” He kind of spits when he says this. Also due to the above-mentioned book.

Just these few new words give me great hope as we approach his first speech therapy appointment. I’m looking forward to what they have to say, as well as what they will teach us.

It also makes me realize just how hard this might be… because when I was prompting Tad to meow for the Webmaster, Ane was standing right there, meowing loudly. While it may be a long process to get Tad to speak, it will be a longer one to make Ane stop speaking for him.
