Field Trip!

Ane’s preschool class took a field trip yesterday to a local pumpkin patch and corn maze in Snohomish. We weren’t exactly looking for the most sincere pumpkin patch, but we had a great time. Here are some photo highlights (with commentary) of our trip.

On the trike track
The farm that has the pumpkin patch and corn maze also has a large barn with fun things to do… including a bike/trike track, marked off by hay bales, with John Deere bikes and trikes for the kids to ride. As you can tell, Ane loved this part of the trip a LOT.

Found a pumpkin!
It was raining. It was cold. It was muddy. So we carried an umbrella, dressed warmly, and wore our boots. Hey, this is Washington! We know how to do this! Ane picked a nice, petite pumpkin for me to carry back on the hayride wagon for her. The corn maze is in the background. We went for a short walk-through of it, led by the owner of the farm. No one got lost, thankfully.

A cow licks Ane's boots
There were cows in another part of the barn. The kids were able to feed a couple of friendly cows some hay and pet them. This one decided to see how Ane’s boots tasted by licking them, which made her squeal.

The tractor is in park.
A large tractor was parked out front for the kids to climb on. Ane took the wheel. Remind me to not let her drive until she’s 21.

The Great Pumpkin
So, there was the pumpkin patch where you could pick your own pumpkin… and then, up by the main barn, was the GIANT pumpkin patch – meaning the pumpkin patch where they grew the big ones. There were some monsters up there. This was was nice and orange, and easy to get next to for a really good picture. The grin on her face should tell you all you need to know about her opinion of her field trip.

It’s obvious she had a blast! I miss her and Tad so much! (and you and the Webmaster, too).

If Ane wants to know how to milk a cow I can show her. Also since you’ve done the pumpkin patch a corn maze cannot be far behind, right? (and by corn maze I mean you don’t come out for hours)
