Cold, cold, cold
The weather, I mean. Dear God, should it REALLY be snowing on Opening Day??? I mean, REALLY??
Oh, well. The Mariners won their opening day game, thanks to some late hitting and JJ Putz slamming the door on any 9th inning comebacks by the Rangers. And for my money, Erik Bedard better start living up to his hype and his – what is it? – $13 million paycheck. Too many walks, Bedard. That’s all I’m saying.
The Webmaster is going to the game tonight with Taz (of Taz and Tweety of the Group o’ Friends). Taz works for Nintendo (aka: company that owns the Mariners), and therefore, the seats are three rows from the dugout. I get to take Ane and Tad to the library for story time.
Yes, I may be bitter. Is it showing?
In all seriousness, I am glad that the Webmaster is going. He deserves to have some fun. We’ll figure out what I deserve later. 😉
The meeting with Ane’s teacher went pretty well. She behaved today, but apparently was walking around the whole day asking if she was behaving. We have a couple of strategies in mind, but I think her teacher is now more well-informed about Ane’s life and behavior outside of school, and may react to her a little differently now. I’ll keep everyone posted on how it goes.
I let Ane “help” me with making dinner last night, which she enjoyed, but then asked me why she couldn’t do certain things, because “Grandma lets me do that.” Specifically, beating eggs (I was making omelets). I told her Grandma uses a bigger bowl to beat eggs, and I was using a one-cup Pyrex glass measuring cup. If I was wrong, Mom, don’t tell her that. But she obviously likes cooking better at your house – the primary reason being that there isn’t a little brother there trying to horn in on her helping action.
It is freezing this morning. My poor flowers. Hopefully the weather tonight is more forgiving, for the Webmaster’s sake. If it isn’t, well… hey, the library is heated.

It’s going to be in the 70s and 80s in Texas for the next week, but we will have thunderstorms.

The only place I’m warm enough is in the car. And the 85 degree Mountlake Terrace Pool deck.
