The airlines suck

Because American Airlines had to re-do work it was supposed to have done a month ago, Resiss, Little Cousin and Baby Cousin, who were supposed to arrive here yesterday for a week-long visit, ended up having their flight cancelled. As a result, the whole trip was called off.

I’m bummed, but poor Ane was crushed. She had been so looking forward to having Little Cousin here to play with again. Her face crumpled up a few times, but she didn’t actually cry. Still, it was hard to see that much disappointment on my little girl’s face.

When she asked why they weren’t coming, I told her that the airplane was broken and needed to be fixed. “But Tad has tools!” she exclaimed, referring to his toy Home Depot tool box. “Can’t we go and fix the plane?”

I wish we could, kiddo.

It’s getting to the point where I have a beef with almost all of the airlines. It makes me not want to fly, but then how will I travel? I can’t drive everywhere. Grrr.

Airlines know that they are the fastest option (when trains and cars are the only others), so they really don’t care if they make people mad or screw up their plans. as long as airlines are making a profit and the people on top are content with that profit, nothing will change.

Tell Ane I was upset too. Maybe we can come in June.

    That does suck.

It’s getting to the point that if Justin suggests driving across the country to Seattle again, I’m almost ready to do it. Our last plane trip went really smoothly, but I think we were just lucky.
