Huh?

There are many things this week that have left me scratching my head.

First of all, American Airlines creating some real havoc for those trying to fly the friendly skies. I’m just slightly bitter about it… but they can’t even pull their act together after how many days??? It’s little wonder people have little faith left in the airlines anymore.

Second, Michael Johns getting voted off American Idol??? Will someone please explain that one to me?? I mean, we all know that making the Top 10 means that you get a decent shot at a recording contract, so I guess we shouldn’t worry too much about him. Still, why is he out and, say, um, Kristy still in? Is it just that massive Oregon voting bloc that she’s got going for her, or what?

Third, I am living with a teenager trapped in a four-year-old’s body. Within the space of a week, she has asked for:
– a real cell phone
– an iPod (pink, like Auntie’s)
– an email address
… and you wonder why I am losing my mind.

Fourth, Tad is going to be tested by an occupational therapist at some point. We had his first appointment with his new speech therapist, Kay, this last Tuesday, and it went pretty well (aside from Ane trying to horn in on the whole thing, and when she watched Kay do her write-up, taking out her Princess notebook and pencils and doing her own “write-up” – and then asking Kay for her email address so she could send it to her later). Tad gave her a pretty decent sample of his verbal capability, but now we’re going to head down the road of occupational testing as well. I just want to know when it all will stop – when will there finally be an end to what is up with him? Will there ever be?

Finally, the Mariners. I am going to my first game of the season tonight, and the team that played this last road trip had better not be there. Seriously. I have front-row bleacher seats in left field and you guys had better play like you want to win.

Clear skies and a happy weekend to you all.

I understand why you’re so aggravated about the airlines, but something most people aren’t realizing… it isn’t American’s fault, it’s the FAA’s fault. American got everything fixed 2 weeks ago like they should have and everything was Kosher, but then the FAA decided to change the regulation and say that a wire near the landing gear needed to be moved by 1/2 an inch. Something that hasn’t caused a problem to date, but they’re suddenly afraid that it might spark and blow up the fuel tank. So it isn’t American’s fault ~ It’s the FAA trying to act like they’re being pro-active and fixing a possible problem that really isn’t a problem at all. (My parents are ex-piolets. I hear them going on a soap box every night about this. ^^;)

I hope the Mariner’s game goes well! I am very plesently surprised with my O’s!

Did you watch Idol Gives Back Tuesday night? Compare those kids with yours for just a few minutes. Next to those poor kids, yours stack up pretty well, huh? And they do grow up and even out.
By the way, give the tall one my email address. I’ll take the report! She is a handfull. Gives me a chuckle.
Loved the latest little guy picture.
And as for Idol, I’ve tried to analyze the voting, assuming the count is on the up and up, and I think most people who vote are the teens and pre-teens (I didn’t start voting until this year and I’m not consistent) and Michael being older, I don’t think they connected with him.
Kristy is going to have to sing something that isn’t country and it will stop her. But she has grown in the last few weeks.
    Go David Cook!!
