Summer beverage of choice

Forget frappucinos. The Starbucks Blended Lemonade is the hands-down winner this summer for me.

At Safeco Field, they have this delicious cold lemonade slushy called a “Squishy.” Squishys come in either lemonade or strawberry flavors. A couple of seasons ago, you used to be able to go to the actual concession stand that sold them and get a mix – two scoops of each in the large cup. Nowadays, they don’t do that any more.

The only problem with Squishys is that when you suck all the juice out, you are left with a large block of ice.

Enter the Blended Lemonade. Not only is it divinely good, not only can you see the flecks of lemon zest in it – it is blended so well that there is never the issue of extra ice.

AND, at the Barnes & Noble Cafe (which sell Starbucks products and yet are not Starbucks-run), you can get a Blended Strawberry Lemonade. I don’t know why you can’t get them at the regular Starbucks stores (at least, not as far as I’ve seen), but they are extra-double-plus-good as well.

So, go treat yourself to a Blended Lemonade. You know you want one now.

And… happy anniversary, Mom and Dad! Thanks for getting married thirty-one years ago, and staying married the rest of that time. I love you very much!
