Family Pictures from Disneyland

As promised, here come some of the over-500 pictures that we took on our trip. You are all going to be sick of our smiling faces by the time this is over.

The kids, being devoted fans of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on the Disney Channel (the only show we let them watch on the Disney Channel right now), know very well who Mickey is. Ane was thrilled to meet him, and Tad promptly walked up to Mickey and lifted up his arms – he wanted Mickey to pick him up. Mickey did hug the kids, and we got this nice picture. The Webmaster is holding Ane’s autograph book.

This photo was taken at the River Belle Terrace restaurant in (technically) Frontierland. The Mickey T-shirts were all provided by Nana and Papa last Christmas, and we all wore them on the same day. One of the cast members who checked our bags going in referred to us as “the Mickey family.”

We had one “Magic Morning” during our trip – which means that we could enter the park a full hour before it opens, and Tomorrowland and Fantasyland are usually open. It also means that you can take really good pictures in popular spots without a ton of people crowding around. This particular picture is special because the Webmaster and I had one taken in this same spot during our honeymoon.

Thanks to some other tourists, Nana and Papa joined us for a picture. We then reciprocated the favor to the people who took this picture.

And here we all are again at the PCH Grill at the Paradise Pier Hotel, with Max (Goofy’s son, former star of Goof Troop and A Goofy Movie, neither of which the kids know of, but they did like Max a lot). I will devote a whole blog to character meals later in this series, and it will hold very valuable information.

The kids had no fear of the characters, which was great. Even Tad was more than willing to hug a fully costumed character. When my immediate family went to Disneyland in 1996, Auntie was three and a half, and just getting over some major issues with people in costumes. So it was very nice to see the kids interact with characters, even if most couldn’t talk to them.

And, of course, there were some characters that we were just dying to meet. More on that later, too. I think this picture is one of my favorites from the trip.

Did I mention that the kids love Snoopy, too? Oh, yes. They do.

In that first photo, I think Mickey’s getting a little close to Deanna. The Webmaster should have stepped in to protect his woman! 🙂
