Summer Break

Hi – Webmaster here. Getting some rambunctious kids ready for bedtime tonight turned into a trip to the Children’s Medical Center ER. Tad managed to break the femur in his left leg. Deanna is staying with him tonight at the ER; eventually they’ll get a room (a Children’s nurse said they are unusually full right now). I’m home now with Ane.

The orthopedic surgeon will be taking a look at his films shortly (he was on call). Early staff opinions are that they may be able to set the bone (under general anesthesia) without surgery, but then his entire lower extremities would need to be immobilized (casted) for 6-8 weeks. The ortho-doc will make the final call on that.

Surgery or not, he will still have to be immobilized and that’s simply going to make for a very different summer than we had hoped/planned for.

More information and details will come. Your prayers are needed very much. Thank you.

Our prayers are with you. At least this happened after Disneyland and he was able to have fun on that vacation.

Hi and hugs to all. I’m in Westport (remember Westport? You haven’t been here for a while. It’s available) Didn’t have internet but this time it’s here! (I don’t understand, but I”m using it.)
So, so sorry about the little leg. I know there’s nothing I can do that Louise wouldn’t do, like baby sitting, but will surely be sending good thoughts your way.
    Love,
    ~Lynda

    Prayers from here, too!
Kids heal quickly….in the long run, this whole experience will probably be much harder on his parents than on him.
Sorry you all have to go through this.
