Tad Speaks – Mommy’s Mean

Tad has a bad habit of taking his large Tonka dump truck (still one of his favorite toys, courtesy of Uncle Captain and Aunt Q-Bee), steering it into the kitchen and ramming it into the lower kitchen cabinets.

It’s leaving dents, which does not please me.

Last night, as the dump truck was beginning another run at the cabinets, I sternly warned off its driver. “Tad, do NOT hit the cabinets.”

He looked at me, smiled, and proceeded to hit the cabinets with the dump truck.

I took him by the arm, scolded him, and placed a firm swat on his diaper-padded bottom.

Tad walked away, pushing his dump truck (after rubbing his butt), and whining, “Daddy. I wan’ Daddy.”

Mommy is mean, mean, mean.

Yes, you’re a mean mommy, but that’s how you know you’re doing a good job. If Tad wants mean, he should have had you as a big sister – wait, he has Ane, never mind.

    I’ll take a “I wan’ Daddy” any day. 🙂
