A Sincere Pumpkin Patch

Following up on the school theme, here are some pictures of Ane’s class field trip to the pumpkin patch. The Webmaster had the fun of taking her to a local farm and corn maze in Redmond with the rest of the parents and kids.

This farm allowed the kids to choose their own sugar pumpkin. We bought jack o’lanterns later that the Webmaster and Ane carved. The sugar pumpkin is still sitting on our kitchen table with two other sugar pumpkins that we bought, and they will all eventually become pie, cheesecake, cookies or muffins.

It was probably the nicest day of that whole Halloween week. It rained almost every other day.

As you can tell, Ane enjoyed herself… and she REALLY wants to ride a pony again.

It was nice that the Webmaster got to share in the fun with her. Too often, he gets left out because of his work schedule – and that he’s commuting by bus to work, so it just takes him longer to get home. So this particular field trip was special to Ane, because she got some quality time with Daddy all to herself.

Next year, we might have to arrange a pumpkin patch trip on our own – Tad’s school doesn’t do them (too many logistical issues with handicapped children), and Ane will be in kindergarten. We’re fortunate to have lots of farms and corn mazes around here to choose from!
