Up to my eyeballs in crazy

It has been a couple of long days around here.

Today will be long and interesting, since we have our meeting with the school principal today.

Yesterday, Ane brought home a tape recorder and HOMEWORK. It wasn’t complicated, but it was time-consuming: read a favorite story into the recorder, add sound effects if possible, create a “turn the page” sound that the child can do, and, oh, bring it back in by tomorrow.

We read Bread and Jam for Frances, which we can almost guarantee that not many of the other kids will have read before, but Ane enjoys it quite a lot. Still, that meant a late bedtime for Ane, since we had to do it after we got home from Cubbies last night.

And Tad is behaving quite well at school, but it’s not coming home with him at all. It’s getting to the point where he doesn’t want to leave school when I pick him up.

I am glad that he loves school, but I wish he wouldn’t pitch a fit when it’s time to leave.

Sounds like someone else I once knew.

You need to remind them of this when they are teenagers and whining about being too tired to go to school.

    Preschool homework is ridiculous!
