A wander through the library

It’s always kind of sad when you walk through the library and nothing on the shelf grabs your eye.

I did pick up this really fun book for Tad, though, which our friend C. the librarian had given us a proofing copy of – Dinosaur vs. Bedtime. Very cute, very boy. Ane, however, was bummed because she realized that she really has read all the Max & Ruby books at the library. We need to find another series to get her interested in.

So, since I couldn’t find a new book to read, I came home from the library and watched American Idol. Two people are leaving, and there is a twist promised. I’m guessing that the judges will pick one of the people who will be let go. And who will go? The weakest performances were Anoop, Jorge, Kris and Megan. Anoop and Jorge simply couldn’t connect with the songs, Kris was superflously playing acoustic guitar for a rock song, and Megan picked a terrible song. And why on earth are we still respecting Michael Jackson as a singer/artist on a show like American Idol? He has devolved into more than a sad parody of himself – he’s become a grotesque and creepy shadow that should be shunned permanently. Despite the “fans” who park themselves outside of courthouses, Jackson’s days of relating to the mainstream are long over and AI should reflect that.

Rant over. Need to find a new book to read.

Wow! Do I totally agree with you about Michael Jackson. Let him creep away.
I was at dinner at Lewis County’s newest restaurant (Chinese in Mayfield?) Yes! So I missed the first hour. Have no clue who is
    o-u-t.
Sorry about the library visit. I wish we had a library. But we have used Amazon, and that does us fine!
