Easter Sunday

We had a very wet and rainy Easter Sunday. (Surprise, surprise.) We didn’t let the weather dampen our spirits, though!

Happy Goofy Easter

The kids were decked out in their Easter best – Tad had a new shirt, Ane had a new dress, and even Dolly got a new Easter outfit. Ane’s gloves were purchased on clearance last year and saved for this year. I surprised her with them right before church.

The Easter Bunny does not come to our house until after church. If he came before church, we’d never get out of the house. The kids received some very nice things in their Easter baskets, and were very excited to start playing with them.

Ane got many new toys (and not a minute too soon, since she has spring break this week and I have to think of things for her to do while she’s out of school), and one of her favorites was the Disney Princess paper dolls. She’s finally old enough to play with paper dolls, and was thrilled to get Princess ones. I just have to finish punching them all out so she can start playing with them as soon as she gets up this morning.

Tad’s favorite was probably his R2-D2 Potato Head. He has loved playing with the one at Friend and Doc’s house for the last year or so, and he was very happy to finally have one of his own. (He picked up the Darth Vader and stormtrooper pieces last summer at California Adventure, so now he has quite the Star Wars collection.)

After a quick lunch and naps, we went up to Great-Grandma and Great-Grandpa’s for an Easter dinner. The kids had a good time, and Great-Grandma provided an egg hunt. The Webmaster hid all the eggs and turned the kids loose. Tad stopped after three eggs, preferring to play with the toys that Great-Grandma and Great-Grandpa keep around, but Ane had to compete against Auntie for the rest of the eggs. Yes, Auntie. The Webmaster didn’t exactly hide the eggs with a 16 year old in mind, but with a little motherly help, Ane ended up with the same number of eggs as her aunt. And all was right with the world.

Here’s hoping all of your Easter celebrations were as happy as ours!

I love Ane’s hair. Sponge rollers or hot rollers?
