Tad Speaks – his opinion on bedtime

Tad was trying to avoid bedtime last night with a passion. And his opinions are becoming quite clear – and quite clearly verbalized, to boot.

For example, after I got home from the library yesterday afternoon, Tad meandered over to me as I was sitting on the couch, and casually said, “Mama, I wan’ Mickey Mouse pancakes.”

I told him that I was sorry, but the chicken was already on the grill and I wasn’t going to be making pancakes for dinner. He understood me perfectly – and he wasn’t happy about it.

Later, I had to physically hold him down to brush his teeth – which he thought was very funny – but then I had to wait for him as the Webmaster chased him down for bedtime. I was his “designated reader” for his bedtime story.

The Webmaster finally carried Tad in, while he protested loudly, “No! I don’ wanna go bed!”

I smiled at the Webmaster. “Well, at least he’s telling us what he thinks in nearly complete sentences!”

And lest I forget – Happy Birthday, Ressis! Have you opened your present yet?

Thanks for the birthday wishes! And, yes, I opened my gift and look forward to putting them up at Christmastime.
