Ane Speaks – Miss Literal

On Halloween, I found that someone had ripped the entire 1982 video version of “Disney’s Halloween Treat” to YouTube. So we watched it. The kids really enjoyed it, especially since they’ve now seen so many of the early movies that are clipped for the old special.

During the Sleepy Hollow segment (which the kids have seen before in its entirety), Ane was asking me why Ichabod Crane was behaving so funny when all it was were sounds in the forest (this is before the Headless Horseman shows up).

“Oh, Ichabod’s just a scaredy cat,” I replied.

Ane squinted at the screen. “Where’s the cat?” she asked.

So I had to explain the saying to her – and then remind myself that Miss Literal takes everything, well, literally.
