Ane Speaks – Earning Money

Ever since her shopping trip to Build-A-Bear last Saturday, Ane has been talking about the value of a dollar.

It’s more along the lines of how much SHE values a dollar and really wants some more of them.

On our way back from church last night, she was talking about other things she would like to get (it was Store Night at Awanas, which means the kids get to redeem their “money” that they have been accumulating to spend at the “store” – which is equivalent to someone’s trip to the clearance toys at Target or Wal-Mart). I did owe her a couple of dollars – I haven’t paid her allowance in a while, and she gets 60 cents a week now that she is 6 years old – so that made her happy momentarily.

But then she let out a big sigh. “I wish I could lose some more teeth so I could have more money.”

Considering all the drama that went along with losing a tooth the first time, I just about keeled over in a dead faint.

Apparently, Ane has discovered that the “tooth fairy”… is really a cash cow. Good thing she only pays a quarter a tooth at our house.

You might want to let her know that she only gets paid for HER teeth. Knocking out Tad’s teeth won’t help her cash flow. 😉

Tell her I can assist her in losing teeth if she really wants.
