Countdown

Here’s how I look right now. For those of you who haven’t seen me recently, notice the large addition to my middle:

Yes, Rerun is healthy and growing. I had a doctor’s appointment and ultrasound yesterday, so we’ve both been thoroughly checked out. The ultrasound was particularly entertaining, because I’ve never had one so late in a pregnancy before. It was a 2-D ultrasound, but I was trying hard to see if I could make out any facial features that reminded me of his siblings. It was a little too hard to see anything, but he does have a nice little nose, according to the ultrasound tech. And he was gnawing on his foot, apparently.

And any doubts that we might have had that Rerun is a boy… are totally gone. (Not that they were there in the first place – it was pretty obvious the first time around.) There’s nothing like seeing your son flash you from the womb on an ultrasound screen. “Yep, THAT’S a boy,” the ultrasound tech said with a wry smile.

So, we both have a clean bill of health, and I have appointments once a week now. You’d think that his due date was getting close or something…
