Bookworm

Tad has recently become fixated on Batman.  There’s really not an explanation for it.  He’s seen the old TV show a couple of times, and discovered some Fisher-Price Batman toys in a catalog (one of many we received over the Christmas season, but this one has hung around and Tad now calls it “my magazine”).  He’s been talking about it so much, I suggested the Webmaster let him borrow an old visual dictionary that I gave him years and years ago for a birthday gift.  (The one I linked to is actually an out-of-print update of the one we have, so that tells you how old this is.)

This is what we found Sunday night.

I swear that he was reading when we last looked at him.

He’s not completely back up to speed after that ear infection.  I had no idea it would take so much out of him.  So he’s been crashing a little earlier than we’re used to in the evenings… and he’s always been the kid who falls asleep with a book in his hand.  I can’t wait until he actually learns to read.

The Webmaster wondered if he would become a little less obsessed with sharks if he started in on comic book action heroes.  Since he picked out three shark books at the library yesterday and that was all he wanted, I highly doubt it.  Still, it’s nice to see him expand his horizons a little.  He’s such a funny little guy.  I think he’s finally starting to recover from the ear infection experience, and I’m glad.

If he gets into Batman, Superman or any other comic book heroes let me know, I fully intend to spoil him with all the superhero material I can find.
