First Words

His first word, which had been percolating in his babble for a while, finally came distinctly out of his mouth on Sunday, March 13th.

Rerun’s first word was “cookie.”

Not “Mama,” not “Dada,” but “cookie.”

So I tried really hard to work on “Mama” with him.

His second word came out clear as a bell yesterday.  He had been warming up to it for days.

It wasn’t Mama.

Rerun LOVES playing with balls.  This particular one was a birthday gift from myself and the Webmaster.  It’s just the right size to handle, bounce around, roll, and kick for a one-year-old.

He loves playing ball with anyone who will play with him.

And when it rolls away, he will chase after it, saying, “Ball!”  Which sort of comes out like “baah!”  But it’s the only time we ever hear him use that particular word.

Rerun is a very happy and verbal little boy.

And he LOVES his ball.

Maybe “Mama” will be next.  I can dream, right?

NOOOOOOOO!!! He was supposed to wait until I came for a visit before talking! I discussed this with him! He seemed to be so trustworthy.

Rupert still says “MIMI!!!” for mommy, which I think makes him sound a little French …
