Another New Skill?

Either Rerun is a gifted mimic, or he’s taking the library’s summer reading program to heart, too.

He is really getting into his bedtime story routine, and only at the end of the book does he try to grab it out of my hands.  He wants to read it for himself – he doesn’t attempt to eat it anymore.  Other books, however, seem to still be fair game.

And yes, the older two are doing our library’s summer reading program for elementary-aged kids.  I really should grab the preschool one for Rerun – it says that it’s for ages newborn to four, and that includes him!

Besides the fact that Tad will be in summer school and working on social skills as well as keeping sharp academically, I plan on pounding some math into Ane’s head before this summer is over.  I am SO TIRED of seeing her count on her fingers – but most of the kids in her class were still doing it by the end of the school year.  I forsee a lot of Math Bingo on the iPad in her future, and maybe some flashcards.  Perhaps I’ll be really cruel and make her do those timed test math worksheets.

This is going to be one fun summer!

Extra special picture in the middle. Makes me go “ahhhhh..” And the book is even right-side-up.

Cut Rerun’s hair already! He used to look like Curious George, which was cute, now he looks like he has a bad reverse mullet, which is wrong!

The was one summer, I think I was eight or nine, that I had to fill out a times table every day (1-12). Dad drew it out for me on that green, lined computer paper that we had. I don’t think I was timed, though.
