Evolution of a Floor

This was the floor in Ane’s new room once the Webmaster had completely removed all of the carpet:

Honest to goodness, it looks like someone painted the ceiling and walked around in the drips.  The paint was all very surface-y, though, and I knew it would come off easily when I could scrape it up with my thumbnail.

So, we turned our contractor, Little Mo’s Dad, loose on it, and this is what happened next:

That is the floor, cracks filled in, and sanded down.  Paint’s all gone, and it just needed a good wiping and vacuuming before getting it’s first coat.

And here it is with the first coat on:

Ane was literally jumping with excitement when she saw it.

The second coat went on that night, but then Little Mo’s Dad was over here again on Sunday to do a little sanding and re-coating in spots where some debris had gotten stuck in the finish.  So, we’re just waiting for it to dry and cure before we break out the pink paint.

I think we finally might have a three-bedroom house again by this weekend.
