Think Pink

Flashback Friday is once again preempted for a home improvement update!

Ane and her friend Lisa have been planning this for over a month, after I promised the girls that they could help paint Ane’s room when the time came.  I decked them out in old shirts of the Webmaster’s that I often use as kid paint smocks, and turned them loose on one wall and a couple of plastic cups of pink paint.

Their goal: turn a yellow room that was previously a nursery into a pink room fit for Ane.

No, we did not just turn them loose unsupervised.  I was busy doing the edges.

Here is the color contrast:

The room is going from a soft yellow to a cherry blossom pink.  It’s kind of sad to me, in one way, because it means that we no longer have a nursery in this house.  Rerun is still using the Baby Snoopy crib sheet and quilt, but all of the decor has been pretty much packed away.  We put this room together for Ane before she was born… and here we are, almost 8 years later, remaking it for her.

The first coat of paint (and in some places, a second coat) is on, and we will do touch-ups today and hopefully get the molding purchased, cut, and painted.  Lots to do, especially if we’re going to try and get her moved in by Saturday night.  That’s the goal – we’ll see if we get there!
