It’s Cold. I’m Bored. I Bake.

The weather here is blustery and getting very cold.  There is some snow coming down in our convergence zone, but the ground hasn’t frozen enough for it to stick.  But it’s generally chilly and unpleasant.

Friend C. came over yesterday morning for our monthly tea and chatter, but after she left and Rerun went down for his nap, I looked out the window and said, “Today is a good day… to BAKE.”

So Homemade Brown Bread it was.

It turns into great breakfast toast.  And it was nice to prove to myself that I haven’t unlearned everything my mother endeavored to teach me about yeast breads.
