Old Seat, New Seat

We bought this infant car seat right before Ane was born.

It held Ane, Tad, Rerun and was even borrowed in between the boys for Handy Boy.  I think the Major’s girls borrowed it when they were little and visited, too.  So, it had a good run.  But it is now nine years old, and consumer safety says it’s time for something new.

This is the new seat.

It is well rated and will last for Thumper until he is two, now that the recommendation is to keep kids rear-facing until they are two years old.  This seat is supposed to solve the leg space problem by adjusting/sliding backward to give toddlers more leg room.

Having the new car seat in the living room makes Thumper’s arrival seem a lot sooner than it really is.  I’ve got so many things to do before he shows up…

Crap, Baby Boy Cousin’s car seat expires this December, I didn’t want to have to buy him a new infant car seat. At least I have time.

Yeah, you still have to pick a name! Can’t call him Thumper forever! (and a real name, not blog name)

You should have told me you needed a car seat! If you haven’t opened the box for the new one, take it back and use the seat I bought for the girls. It’s a Graco Snugride and it still has two years left on it.
