Emergency Hold

As you may have guessed from some previous posts, Rerun is having a little difficulty adjusting to life with Thumper.  It’s not too terrible, but we have definitely seen some acting out.

Last week, while the kids were at home for spring break and Ane had Little Mo over, Rerun decided to have a complete and total meltdown over the fact that Mama was not able to hold him.  And when I say complete and total, I mean it.

So I turned to Tad and said, “Could you hold Thumper for me?”

Thumper, who was already dropping off, crashed in his brother’s lap.  I tended to a very cranky Rerun, who just needed a little time in my lap to reassure him that Mama still loved him.

And Tad did very well holding Thumper.  But after about 15 minutes, he said, “Mom, can you take him?  I’m all done.”

He did a very good job pinch hitting in an emergency.
