Tad’s Birthday Party
When I asked Tad what kind of birthday he wanted, he just said, “Batman.”
And when I asked what kind of cake he wanted, he said, “Chocolate Batman cake.”
I finally decided that this year’s theme was the Justice League, which meant the kids needed to dress appropriately for the party.
And if Tad wanted a chocolate cake, then a chocolate cake he would have… and those cupcake rings would work again.
He was pretty thrilled with the result.
We had a full spread for dinner – summer is great for that. Tad’s birthday is the one where we invite everyone over early for dinner, because people can spread out and we can kick the kids outside to run and play and eat. But as soon as Tad had inhaled his dinner, he was at my elbow, asking, “Can I open presents now?”
He (meaning me) had asked people for Lego gift cards, because he was saving up for a really big Lego set (more on that on a different day). He got several gift cards, but he also got lots of other gifts, too.
And one of the best things about Tad is how expressive he is when he gets something he really wanted.
Ane picked out something for him, too, as a gift from her and Rerun and Thumper.
He had a great time at his birthday party.
And he REALLY loved his chocolate cake.
