LEGO Insanity

The gift that Tad really wanted for his birthday was the LEGO Arkham Asylum set.  However, it was way too expensive for any one person to reasonably give him.  So, when people asked what he wanted for his birthday, we said “LEGO gift cards!”

And after his birthday, he had more than enough in gift cards to go to the LEGO store and get the set of his dreams.

Tad and his LEGO set

His dreams, my nightmare.

AAAAACK!!!

That is 1,619 pieces and 3 building books.  And there was Tad, at my elbow, cracking the proverbial whip.  “Mom, how much longer?  Please, Mom?”

Six hours (including bathroom breaks, baby breaks, and making dinner) is what it took.

FINISHED.

It was still daylight when I started that thing.  But I had one happy boy at the end.

Just let me play with it now and forever.

Someday, SOMEDAY, he is going to learn to put these things together HIMSELF.

Speaking of birthday presents, today is my niece Bette’s 3rd birthday, and her dad texted me to let me know that her present arrived!  Happy birthday, Bette!  We love you and miss you!
