Obachan’s Birthday

My Obachan turned 90 on Saturday.  It was a big deal to me, but she didn’t want a big fuss.  My uncles took her out to dinner on Saturday, then my parents and Auntie and myself and the kids had a big roll-your-own sushi dinner together on Sunday.

It took a little convincing to wake Thumper up for dinner, because the little turkey had taken an early nap at church and then didn’t want to go back to sleep.

But after he finally woke up – and I know the kids think this is just torture – I got a picture of them with their Obachan.  Naturally, I forgot my camera, so it was taken with my iPad – which generally isn’t too bad, but does better with lots of light.

I know they will appreciate these pictures someday.  I appreciate them now.

Obachan is in great health, despite needing to replace a hearing aid and getting a crown on a tooth.  I am so blessed and grateful that the kids know her so well.
