A Sincere Pumpkin Patch
Our church is hosting and selling a pumpkin patch this year, and this last Saturday was their “carving” day – you pick it out, and you can carve it there.
The weather had been tempermentally stormy, but when I snapped this picture, the blue sky was trying to peek through, and we picked out pumpkins without rain coming down on us.
It would have been nice to get a picture of all four kids among the pumpkins, but getting all four to look at the camera these days is a bit of a struggle.
After picking out a pumpkin to carve (plus others to carve later, since we’re not certain this one will last a whole week until Halloween), the Webmaster and I got to work cleaning it out and carving, while the kids ate popcorn and watched It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown on the big screen in the church sanctuary. I did the face design and just went for a simple jack o’lantern look.
This pumpkin is now sitting on our front steps outside as decoration, while the rest are waiting for their faces. I promised Tad that we would do that after school on Wednesday, and I know he will hold me to that.
