Christmas Baking Begins

I still need to work on getting my decorations up, but the baking has to get started!  I tackled one of the more labor-intensive traditional ones first – Gingerbread Bears!  I was also initiating Ane into the mysteries of creating the perfect (or not) bear.

Ane helping with the bears

She helped for one tray, putting the mini chocolate chip eyes and paws in place for me.  Then she abandoned me for Minecraft.

Gingerbread always smells fabulous while it’s baking.  The smell attracted Rerun, who began to cry because they weren’t ready to eat yet.

Once they were out, though…

Baked bears!

… Rerun could not be held off any longer.

Rerun approves of these cookies!

Now, I just have to keep them hidden, or the kids will eat them all and then Ressis won’t get any!  I’ll need to keep baking different cookies!

I made this gluten-free this year! The kids love ’em. Thanks for the recipe!
