School’s Out, I Want My Waffle Fries!
As a “last day of school” treat, I had new books ready for each of the kids (even Thumper, just because I had one I’d found in the dollar bin a while ago), and I gave them to the kids while we were waiting in line for the other part of the treat – getting lunch at Chick-fil-A.
Because our Chick-fil-A has only been open for a little over a month, it’s still hugely popular, and the drive-thru can be a wait at lunchtime. So I decided to give the kids their books. (Rerun already owned the LEGO Star Wars book – he was just reading it in the car for fun.) Since the line was moving slowly, I told the kids to hold up their books for a picture.
Thumper was having none of it.
He was not going to be posing for any stupid picture when he was having to WAIT for his WAFFLE FRIES.
The picture ended up being much funnier than I had intended!
He did get his waffle fries. All was well. Eventually.
