Playoff Season Win!

We were at church for most of yesterday’s Seahawks game.  The Webmaster was streaming it on his phone during second service, but it was terrible to watch (the national sportscasters have it in for us) and only tolerable to listen to (once we started streaming local media).

As we drove home, it was even more of a nail biter.  We were up 10 to 9, and the team could not put a drive together to kill time.  The Vikings got the ball back.  The Vikings moved down the field.  The Vikings were setting up for a field goal.

I pulled into the driveway, and turned the car off, killing the radio.  “I can’t bear to listen,” I moaned to the Webmaster, who ignored me and went into the house, where the radio was tuned to the game.

As I lugged in kids and our bags, I could hear the Webmaster yelping.  LOUDLY.  Then he turned to me and yelled, “AND YOU TURNED IT OFF!”

We turned on the TV and watched the replay.

The Vikings kicker had missed the field goal.

The kids, who had been dressed in their Seahawks best for church, went screaming and tearing around our cul-de-sac.

I would deeply appreciate it if next week’s game wasn’t as much of a nail biter.  If the Seahawks could just blow the Panthers out in the first half, I could handle that so much better.
