First Art Class!
Tad’s fall schedule starts in full swing this week, and it is definitely going to require some juggling – especially with Ane running cross country and being at practice after school four days a week.
Last night was his first art class! The studio is near home, and while he is the oldest kid in the class, it didn’t seem to bother him any. There was at least one other boy (maybe two), with six or seven kids in the class total.
The teacher sets them a project and and teaches them a new technique every lesson. This week’s lesson involved watercolors, oil pastels, and rubbing alcohol to make a halo effect.
You can see the result in Tad’s piece – “Dandelions.”
He had a fantastic time and I think he really clicked with the teacher (whom I had communicated with previously about Tad being in the class, and about him being on the autism spectrum). He is looking forward to going back next week.
I’m so happy for him.
