The Dominoes Fall

I’m not going to lie.  It’s been a tough weekend.

Ane started feeling sniffly on Wednesday.  By Thursday, she was running a mild temperature and skipped swimming lessons that evening.  We were debating her fitness for school on Friday, knowing it was iffy.

Then Rerun woke up at 4:30 am on Friday, and tried climbing in bed with me.  I kissed his forehead and discovered he’d turned into the Human Torch.  So, I had two sick kids at home on Friday.

Sickies One and Two

Then Thumper got home from school, and when I got him off the bus, he felt a little warmer than he should have been.  Since I had already canceled his speech therapy session for the day, I just put him down for his usual nap.  And then he woke up feverish.

By Saturday morning, I had a temperature, but Ane was much better.  Rerun and Thumper were still fighting off the fever.  By Saturday night, Tad was starting to wilt.

Sunday morning, the Webmaster said, “I’m just going to take some ibuprofen and keep sleeping.”  For the first time in a long time, we all stayed home from church (though we watched online).

This bug takes about 36 hours to get rid of the fever, and then leaves behind a hacking cough and stuffy nose.  Really great stuff.

Ane, Rerun, and Thumper will all go back to school tomorrow.  Tad is probably going to stay home, just so he can pass the “fever free for 24 hours” mark.  I’m doing much better.  The Webmaster is supposed to be flying out today for a business trip, and right now, we’re 50/50 on whether or not he will make it.

I hope that everyone else had a better weekend than we did!
