Art Of The Week – Here There Be Dragons

It was definitely bittersweet to walk back into the art studio on Monday.  Tad was happy to be back, but there was a definite undercurrent of sadness.  It’s hard to think that Tad’s teacher will never walk through those doors again.  In her place is a friend of hers, who will teach for the rest of this school year, at least.

However, she immediately appealed to Tad with their first project together – dragons.

The dragon is outlined in ink, and then watercolored.  Tad had a blast, and was very helpful to his new teacher (and the teacher’s assistant, an older high school girl who also worked with Tad’s late teacher as her assistant).  With all the limbo that we are in, waiting for insurance to approve the boys’ regular therapy, it was nice for Tad to get back into one part of his regular weekly routine.
