Easter Together

That sneaky Easter Bunny showed up while we were at church, and the baskets were filled with goodies.

All the kids were pleased with their stuff.

Once everyone had had a chance to play with/assemble some new things, it was time to pack up and head to Grandma and Gichan’s for an early Easter dinner.  We also brought along Ane’s friend Katie, who had just been baptized at church that day, for her first Easter celebration.

After eating, Auntie and JW banished the kids to the stairwell, guarded by Grandma, in order for them to hide all the eggs around downstairs.  It was pouring in earnest outside, so the egg hunt would have to be indoors.  The kids didn’t mind, and when given the signal, they were off like a shot – with the only rule being that all the yellow eggs belonged to Thumper.

Thumper did a lot better this year, and began to actively participate in looking for his eggs, instead of just retrieving the ones I would point out.

Eventually, all the eggs were found, and it was time to crack them open for some loot.

But while some of us (the older boys) were counting coins like misers, others were perfectly happy with the treats.

Thumper was hitting the chocolate so hard that we had to cut him off quickly.  Auntie finally gave me a hand and helped me get his eggs opened before more chocolate could disappear down the hatch.

So even though the weather didn’t cooperate, the kids didn’t care, and everyone had a good time!
