Christmas Cookies 2018

As usual, there was a lot of cookie baking in the house this season.

Our usual favorites made their appearances, along with some new ones.

The new cookies were the jelly-roll style Chocolate Nut Pinwheels, and the Peppermint Twist Kisses.  I personally found the Pinwheels to be lacking… something.  I think the almond flavor was too subtle, and yet others thought it was great.  Everyone liked the Peppermint Twist Kisses, but the two-toned effect of the dough wasn’t worth the effort, in my opinion.  I actually made a second batch and didn’t bother with the red food coloring and the “twist” – which I guess makes them just Peppermint Kisses.  Regardless, the second batch tasted just as good as the first, without the additional effort.

And so far, I have made 5 batches of fudge.
