Unto us a Son is given
When Ane was really little – I think not even a year old – we bought a Fisher Price Little People Nativity set. This toy only comes out at Christmastime, so for the last two years, Ane has been totally thrilled to see it appear, because she’s completely forgotten about it.
Now, with her well-documented obsession with the Christmas story, she is using the figures to act out her version of events.
I saw her holding the angel in one hand and Mary in the other, and she had the angel say to Mary:
“Don’t be afraid, Mary. You’re going to have a son. Name him Jesus. Now go and marry Joseph. Praise the Lord.”
I think she’s got the gist of it, don’t you?

That’s so cute! Little Cousin has that same set (did Ane get hers from Grandma too?. She loves playing with them and she always puts them back at the end of the day in the right spots (Angel on top, Baby Jesus in the middle, Mary and Joseph flanking Jesus, etc.).
